Testimonials

“Following my father's traumatic brain injury, I felt entirely unprepared to navigate his healthcare and life changes, especially because I lived across the country. Sara provided the support, resources, and know-how to handle everything from daily and long-term medical needs to household management and care. Her long-time experience working in the nursing and medical community in NC meant that she could provide us with an immediate network of resources within the community.

Sara's communication skills are parred none - patiently answering our questions and walking us through the various options.

She gave my family and me great comfort that our father was in expert and caring hands.”

“Sara came into our life just when we needed her! We became caretakers of a family member with very little notice, which came with lots of anxiety and stressors due to the unknown. Sara had been referred to us and we didn’t know what to expect but we knew we needed some support. When she came to meet us she gave us all the time we needed to talk, ask questions and simply sit and think about all that was being asked of us from the healthcare system. Sara helped us understand supplies, schedules, feeding tube and trach care, among many other things. She also came to spend time with our family member when we were on vacation to ensure everything was okay. They even went on a field trip to find a wig, which was extremely helpful. Sara’s kind and compassionate disposition puts anyone at ease as soon as they meet her. We certainly hit the jackpot with her!”

“I would like to highly recommend Sara Mansfield for any services that are needed by you or your family. She is a very conscientious and dedicated worker and will meet your needs with kindness and consideration in every way. She was invaluable in our home when my husband suddenly became ill and after 3 1/2 months in various hospitals was able to come to our home.

First task was preparing a room for him, changing our living room to a bedroom for him with all the supplies and equipment needed for his care. He needed a great deal of help, as did I, with care along with round the clock home health care therapies and sitters. Sara assisted with nursing, exercises, making dr. Appointments, organizing medications, organizing transportation to and from doctors appointments (as he was in an oversized wheelchair for a few months). Sara Also did linen changes, laundry, ordered supplies and reordered when necessary. She made many doctor visits with us to listen and “interpret” the orders, changes in meds, and suggestions from the doctor, and ask appropriate questions to the doctor when needed.

Sara has been extremely helpful to me also — grocery shopping, planning meals that are healthy for me and my husband, running errands, doing household chores and preparing meals. As I was beginning to feel a little disorganized with all the extra items in our home due to my husbands illness Sara helped re-organize our entire house — closets, drawers, attic, etc. This relieved a lot of anxiety for me as the months went on. So much progress was made while Sara was working with us. At this time my husband is almost self sufficient — walking, managing all the self care needs, helping with small chores around the house. Setting up his own appointments, grilling , etc.

We are so thankful for all the progress he has made since being unconscious for 5 weeks and completely dependent on others now caring for himself. Sara’s knowledge and expertise in so many areas of care were a huge part of his recovery.”
